I’m really excited to share this new illustration called ‘Astro Shred’ that I’ve been quietly working on in the background while working on all the commercial projects that we have going on at the studio. It’s increasingly hard to find the time to work on personal work especially with our newborn (Hi, Quinn!) that just arrived less than 2 weeks ago.

If you have time tomorrow night, please go and check out the Vancouver Mural Festival Gallery Show. It’s hosted at the VMF Gallery – 14 West 7th Avenue (entrance in 7-½ Lane). The line up is incredible! With 90 VMF artists from the past 4 years.

Astro Shred is a one-time limited print of only 10. Each print features a custom hand illustrated tattoo on Astro Boy and gold foil stamped. The print itself is crisp and sharp, handled by the good folks at Mitchell Print (Thanks Scott Gray!). Hope to see you all there!

Meet Quinn Ting.

We’re thrilled for the safe arrival of our latest Ting Tribe member, Quinn. He arrived over a week ago weighing 7 lb. and 10 ounces at the most amazing hospital in the world, B.C. Women’s Hosptial in Vancouver! At only days old, he’s already full of character. He makes hard grunts whenever he poops. Who does that? Quinn. Our hearts are full and we’re so excited to have him part of our family. We love you so much Quinn!

This shot was taken on the Google Pixel 2 XL (This is not a Google-sponsored post) and illustrated on Procreate.

GTB’s visual brand manifesto measures 123″ tall by 296″ wide.

This project for GTB Toronto and Montreal was definitely one of our top 5 projects of this year so far. Working closely with the Executive Creative Director, Yasmin Sahni, we created this multi-layered of crazy fun artwork that’s embedded with a ton of easter eggs including subtle nods to great artists like Keith Haring, Alex Colville, Ai Weiwei, Edward Hopper, The Toronto Raptors, and more. This massive illustration can actually be taken apart as each component is its own entity. Here’s one piece extracted for fun. It’s called ‘The Running Building”.

The Running Building. One of hundreds of elements that make up this giant GTB mural.

Here’s a closer look at the mural broken up into two parts.

Second half of the mural for a closer look.

It was extra nice to be able to work with Frank Turner again, the owner of Clockwork Productions in Toronto. I used to work with Frank way back in the early 2000s when I was an art director working in Toronto. Frank and his team always pull through in spades, so when I knew they were handling the production, I was more than thrilled. Project Management at the studio by Aiken Lao.

Check out more snaps of the mural that we pulled from social.

Title: Double Douche Duck

Happy Monday everyone! I’m a big fan of Mondays and Fridays. Both days mark the beginning of something new and exciting. Today, after a late start this morning, I came in the studio and started to work on this fun illustration project from Montreal for the friendly folks at LNDMRK and doodled out this guy which made me giggle. So here is, meet ‘Double Douche Duck’. Haha!

BCAA’s Happy Team Appreciation Day card and limited edition print.

Limited edition print done by Hemlock Printers.
Love the sheen on the paper stock and foil reproduction quality.
The cover of thank you card.
The lovely card’s inside.
Interior page of the booklet.
Limited to 1500 prints.

The folks at BCAA are truly one of the nicest group of people I’ve ever worked with. Today, I got a package from BCAA with a limited print of my artwork that I was commissioned to work on earlier this year and a thank you card. It is so heartwarming to receive something so thoughtful from a client that appreciates the hard work you put in.

The art prints were handled by BCAA’s internal design team and printed by Hemlock Printers. The quality is seriously top shelf. There’s a really nice sheen to the paper stock that’s almost metallic looking from certain angles and I also love how the gold foil turned out for my handwritten signature.

Digging up a pile of Tings from the vault for a future sticker pack release.

A big pile of Tings as we sort out pieces for the sicker pack release.

So much work, so little time. We’re looking to opening the vault to fire up sticker packs and more in the near future after we plough through our current heavy workload. Really happy to see our Bun Bun Ting icon character concrete form for shits and giggles.
