An invitation to visit Marpole Oakridge Family Place to help build a stronger community.

Earlier this summer, before heading off to Dallas for our FIFA project, I was invited to give a presentation on my FIFA global poster work and connect with the Marpole community on June 25th. It was just days before we packed our bags to spend an entire month in Dallas creating art for stadiums across Canada, the U.S., and Mexico for the final 16 games.

It was so rewarding to talk about my work in front of families, parents, and kids. This opportunity came about after someone at the community centre saw me on the news and reached out, wanting me to help inspire the community with my art.

Initial email inquiry.

I’ve always been a big believer in supporting local communities and paying it forward. It’s my way of showing gratitude to the universe and doing whatever I can to inspire the next generation. Although some of the kids were way too young to fully comprehend what I shared that day, if I managed to make even one person feel a little more inspired, that’s a major win in my book. Love all the big smiles I saw that day! Big thanks to my producer Holly Hofmann and my partner, Denise Cheung for coming along and providing support that day.
