Live Art for Frontier Collective’s Innovation House sponsored by Vancity and Low Tide Properties.

Had a blast creating live art during Web Summit week here in Vancouver. I was invited to draw live at Innovation House, an event hosted by Frontier Collective and sponsored by Vancity and Low Tide Properties.

The setup was minimal. Just me, my iPad Pro, a video projector, and Procreate. I went full black on white and drew portraits of attendees on a giant panoramic digital canvas as people gathered around the booth. It was great reconnecting with familiar faces and meeting a whole bunch of new ones.

The venue filled up faster than expected, so I wasn’t able to set up a proper timelapse rig. But here’s a fun behind-the-scenes video cut by my production assistant Lynol Lui. The artwork looks pixelated in the footage because of the ultra-wide canvas and Procreate’s export limitations, but you’ll get the idea.
