From Podcasts to Personal Signatures: A Busy Week in Design

Last year, I had the pleasure of recording a podcast with RGD’s president, Nicola Hamilton. We chatted about the creative industry, career pivots, and finding your footing as a working artist. It was still cold in the studio with concrete floors and baseboard heaters, and I was just about to head off to Japan and Hong Kong. A lot has happened since then, but the conversation still holds up. If you’re curious about my journey and thoughts on navigating the design world, give it a listen [link here].

Fast forward to now, and I’m getting ready to host a workshop at DesignThinkers Vancouver tomorrow. It’s called “Designing a Personal Signature” and it’s all about helping creatives discover and refine a visual identity that sticks. Just like KAWS’ double X or Murakami’s flowers, every designer has the potential to build a mark that is instantly recognizable. I’ve used bunnies as a subtle thread in my own work. Now it’s your turn to explore what yours could be.

Hope to see some of you there. Let’s build something meaningful.
