The Broad. One of the very best contemporary art museums we’ve visited.

We just got back from our holiday. A super chill holiday on a cruise, the Norwegian Bliss (The biggest ship to dock in Vancouver to date) where we completely unwinded for 5 days cruising down the pacific coast, visiting Victoria, San Francisco and finally LA where we spent 3 days exploring the city. There we visited The Broad, a fairly new contemporary art museum in downtown Los Angeles.

The collection that was on exhibit was insanely good. Under one roof, they had Koons, Gursky, Kelly (one of our favs! Second time seeing Kelly’s work in person), Basquiat, Baldessari, Warhol, Haring, Kusama (finally we got to see her installation ‘Longing For Eternity’!), Lichtenstein, Murakami, Therrien and much more. It was a real treat and definitely one of the biggest highlights of our trip. If you ever get the chance, it’s a must visit destination!

Press check at Colortec in Burnaby from Chairman Ting on Vimeo.

Went out to Burnaby to check out the facilities at Colortec. We’ve been working with them over the past year on a lot of our mural work. Top notch facility and people. We got our test prints back for our Can I Kick It? prints and we’re looking at new printing techniques for our first limited batch of 50. Stay tuned for more.

“The urge to destroy is also a creative urge.” ― Pablo Picasso

After 2 intense days of working on the latest commissioned mural with Mike Nowland for Hootsuite, we collectively decided to destroy our collaborative piece. We quickly realized that this is the true spirit of a collaborative creative process despite working with each other for years. Tonight, we will be back at Hootsuite’s new office to create a new one. Picasso couldn’t have said it better himself, “The urge to destroy is also a creative urge.”
