Happy new year! Here are 365 days worth of our work crammed into 60 seconds. This marks our 6th consecutive year of putting together a recap video of all the work we’ve done in a year. It’s always fun to see the year in preview to see the growth, achievements and learnings. 2019 has been our best year yet with projects from around the globe including LA, Austin Texas, Cologne Germany, Toronto, Calgary, Hong Kong and more. Big thanks all the clients and friends that believe in us and our work. We couldn’t be more proud of all the work we’ve done in 2019 and we’re extremely excited for 2020, the next decade!

We’re excited to spend the week in LA starting tomorrow to meet our friends at Munchkin, the world’s most loved baby product brand. This past fall, we did a bunch of super fun illustration work for their rebrand initiative and for their big trade show in Cologne, Germany that turned out to be a huge hit so we were invited by their CEO, Steve Dunn to visit their factory and HQ in LA to learn more of what they do. Stay tuned with our IG stories this week.

A very jolly holiday studio party. Thank you to everyone that came and got trashed with us.

Tis was the night of a very jolly evening of laughter, wine, beers, pizza and good company at our annual studio holiday party. This was our second annual holiday party and this year it was a bit different because we casually and unofficially launched our creative collective called ‘Forces of Nice‘ which consists of Hubert Kang Photography, Annie Chen of Lemonni design, Leah Gregg, ourselves, Chairman Ting and Aiken Lao, our studio manager. The name ‘Forces of Nice’ was actually birthed through our good friend Jason Perdue over a decade ago during Carson’s time at Rethink when he was an art director during his agency years. The original Forces of Nice was a collaboration project between Chairman Ting and Tangible Interaction for an adidas Originals art project in both Hong Kong and Shanghai. It feels really good to bring this name back to life with this new crew and what a better way to reboot this collective name than throwing down a kick-ass holiday party. Here are a few snaps from the party for those who missed it. Big thanks to everyone that came and celebrated with us over good beers, wine, whiskey, pizza and more.

This year we took over Green Horn Cafe as we hit over 120 people.

Last Friday, GDC BC hosted an event called ‘Practivism X‘ that was designed to inspire attendees about the power of design and how it can spark societal change. The event was held at The Reliance Theatre in Emily Carr University of Art and Design.

For the event, we teamed up with Scott Gray from Mitchell Press to come up with a fun interactive mural. Attendees were invited to peel stickers off of the heads of two characters covered in our custom illustrations to reveal the word ‘PRACTICE’ on one mural, and the word ‘ACTIVISM’ on the second mural. Within minutes both murals were completely stripped naked to reveal the words inside the character’s heads and shared on social media.
