The Missing Link in Professional Success is Gratitude

I receive a steady stream of messages from every corner of the world. People reach out daily for portfolio reviews, studio internships, or general career advice. I genuinely enjoy the chance to pay it forward, and I often clear my schedule to make time for these conversations.

However, I have noticed a troubling trend that I feel compelled to address, the lost art of the follow-up.

It takes thirty seconds to send a thank-you note. It should be second nature. Yet, more often than not, the conversation ends the moment I stop providing free advice.

“Your attitude is your most valuable asset. “

I cannot stress this enough to anyone starting their career.

Talent might get you in the door, but your ability to build and maintain human relationships is what keeps you in the room. Relationships are the true currency of the professional world.

Because my time is limited, I have to be more intentional about who I share it with. To that end, I am looking into restructuring how I handle future inquiries.
