New Work: Ramen Tabetai, Toronto.

When the team behind Canada’s only two-star Michelin chef asked us to brand and design their new ramen bar in Toronto’s Yorkville district — just below MSSM Yorkville, where we hand-painted a 70-foot panoramic mural two summers ago — we jumped at the chance.

For Ramen Tabetai (@ramentabetai.to), we developed a vivid, character-driven identity using just three colours and clean, bold linework. We handled everything from the logo and wordmark to the bowl design and a new custom mural. Working closely with their internal brand team and Quintessential.co on interiors, we ensured the visual language was playful, cohesive, and full of personality.

The space features 23 original characters, each with its own backstory, adding a layer of narrative and charm to the ramen experience.

About Ramen Tabetai
Ramen Tabetai is the latest project from Masaki Saito, Canada’s only two-star Michelin chef. Located above MSSM Yorkville at 154 Cumberland Street, the concept was born from Saito’s desire to create a ramen that met his high standards. Inspired by Jiro-style ramen, his version features a deep, umami-rich tonkotsu broth and custom soy sauce blend.

Topped with thick chashu slices, garlic, vegetables, and pork fat, the ramen can be customized with add-ons like onsen eggs, spicy tare, and Japanese nori. Since its soft launch, Ramen Tabetai has drawn strong interest, thanks to its bold flavours and Saito’s hands-on approach.
