It’s a sink or swim mentality but the past 2 months have been quite intense. Projects have been piling in non-stop which is a good thing but also a little nerve-racking. Fortunately, we’ve been getting lots of help at the studio from our amazing intern Aiken Lao from UBC’s Sauder School of Business. She’s one of those rare hybrids that possess the ability to illustrate, design, shoot and write. For the past 2-3 months, Aiken’s been an amazing asset at the studio helping out Hubert Kang, Annie Chen and us! Keep checking this space. Lots of new projects in the works that we’ll eventually share. We promise! ;)

Happy Friday! Here’s a quick little doodle to take a break from all the projects we’ve been working on. Yes, it’s another piece for our on-going ‘productive procrastination’ series. Have a great weekend everyone!

Apple Pencil 2.0 was born out of necessity.

Had to modify the Apple Pencil this weekend after a solid 5-hour drawing session to meet hard deadlines. In my opinion, the Apple Pencil is just way too thin and slippery to grip properly. It started to hurt my finger as it’s constantly pressed against the finger as I draw. So this little DIY rubber band solution totally did the trick. I know there are aftermarket accessory grips out there but trust me, don’t waste your money. Just grab a few rubber bands and you’re good to go.

Fun little side note: Photos shot in this post was from my Google Pixel 2 XL. I’m constantly in awe of how amazing this little camera is on this phone. And no, I’m not paid to endorse Google.

Here’s a screen grab of what I was working on. It’s WIP and I can’t wait to show you the final when it’s done!

This piece came out from a very large illustration we’re working on for a client (which we’ll share at a later date). The visual just came and had to be drawn and finished. Well, that was a good 1.5 hours of what we love to call as ‘Productive Procrastination’. Follow us for more regular updates on Instagram.
