Freestyle illustrating while blasting Deltron 3030 in the studio today. Feeling extra inspired by these tunes in the studio. Here’s a quick time-lapse video of the process below. The best part about working for yourself is being able to do whatever the fuck you want even though you’ve got real work waiting for you to do. I call it Productive Procrastination. You heard it here first. When I feel it, I just do it and deal with the work later. The track I used for the time-lapse video couldn’t be more fitting ‘Time Keeps On Slipping’ for a project born out of procrastination at it’s best.

One of our best performing Instagram posts of 2018. We are looking into doing prints for this big ass map of Vancouver due to the popular demand. This commissioned mural illustration of our beautiful city, Vancouver took over 125 hours (Yes, we keep track of these things) and the concept sketching part took over 30 hours (Thanks Freshbooks for helping us keep track of our time!). The client is for a property developer which we’ll disclose at a later date. Brand and creative direction by the talented Chris Zawada and art direction and illustration by yours truly. Read More »

Crypto Cray. Bitcoin Cray. The whole world is cray about cryptocurrencies.

Freestyle illustrating is what I love doing best. No planning, no rough sketching, no references, no agenda. Just letting the mind and wrist run wild and figure out what happens stroke by stroke. In a sense, it’s how I love to go about life. Here’s a piece called ‘Bitcoin Craze’ (9″ x 13″ 300 dpi) and it just happened to be about cryptocurrencies as I was illustrating. I decided it should be about cryptocurrencies since it’s one of the hottest topics out there and that I love drawing fat guys in suits and giant robots. Created on the iPad Pro using the Procreate app. I’ve also included close-ups as well. Enjoy.

A quick review of all our projects of 2017.

Thank you 2017. from Chairman Ting on Vimeo.

2017 flew by faster than we expected and as part of our yearly tradition, we put together a video to recap some of the work we’ve done in the year.
Although a huge pain in the ass, it’s something we look forward to every year to see what we’ve accomplished and how we can continue to grow and do bigger and better work. 2017 was a year of learning, trying new things, travelling, getting recognition and maturing. In 2017, we incorporated our company, picked up our 1st ADCC award, A Communication Arts award, An Applied Arts award, did our first talk at Blend Fest, traveled to Lisbon, Hong Kong twice, Toronto twice, Miyazaki, Kagoshima, Kobe, Kyoto, Osaka, Macau and of course Seattle (that still counts..haha). 2017 was also a year that Carson decided to take on less freelance art direction to focus more on our own projects, but we learned that it’s the mix of different types of work that makes him the happiest. So in 2018, we hope to get a better mix of projects. We also want to thank everyone that was part of our journey this year. Thank you all for your support and love as always! Here’s to a bigger year for 2018!
